The herd is yielding an annual average 7,000 litres 4.4% Fat and 3.6% Protein. They are a high health herd in a TB4 area and BVD accredited. They have a strict Johnes policy and have never had a case of Johnes on the farm.
Breeding
Top MRI sires have always been used and they have bred bulls that have been used for AI. All cow families can be traced back for generations. The owners of this herd take great pride in the history of genetics of this herd.
This group would suit an all year round calving herd or someone that’s predominantly looking for late milk. There is a mixture of cows in milk, freshly calved cows and dry cows due to calve from September through to October. The age profile of the group is young with the oldest cow calving down for her 4th lactation.
