David chatting about a Cover Crop sown.
Back in mid-June, we sowed a ‘Cover Crop’ on a piece of land just outside Mullingar Town.
We chose a mix of Vetch, Clovers & Lacy Phaclia, to condition the soil whilst keeping the weeds at bay.
The long root system of these plants help to aerate and loosen the soil while bringing up the nutrients and fixing the nitrogen in the soil.
Next step is to direct seed the field with oats…
